Cash Only Bistro was born from a simple idea: what if a restaurant could feed more than your appetite?
Cofounded in Detroit by entrepreneur and financial professional Sharletta Hall, Cash Only Bistro brings together two things that have shaped her life: hospitality and financial empowerment.
After years of helping individuals, families, and business owners navigate taxes, finances, and entrepreneurship, Sharletta saw a recurring need. People wanted to build better financial futures, but traditional financial education did not always feel accessible, engaging, or connected to everyday life.
Cash Only Bistro was created to change that.
At its heart, Cash Only Bistro is a restaurant. Guests can come for customizable pasta dishes, signature entrées, cocktails, entertainment, and a great night out. But behind the food is a larger mission.
We believe conversations about money should happen in places where people already feel comfortable gathering.
Through the Cash Only Capital Club, financial education events, business networking, workshops, and community programming, the Bistro creates opportunities for people to learn about saving, credit, investing, entrepreneurship, taxes, homeownership, and building wealth while enjoying the experience of great food and hospitality.
Food brings people to the table. The right conversation can change what happens after they leave it.
Our concept has already been tested through financial education events that attracted more than 100 attendees and sold out the food prepared for the sessions. Participants have shared that after attending our programming, they improved their credit, increased their savings, and, in some cases, opened investment accounts and began saving for retirement.
Cash Only Bistro is also an investment in Detroit's east side. Our goal is to create jobs, bring a new dining experience to the neighborhood, support local economic activity, and create a nontraditional pathway to financial education and wealth building.
The name Cash Only is intentional. It is not about how you pay for your meal. It represents ownership, financial freedom, and the ability to make decisions from a position of strength.
We are building a place where you can eat, connect, learn, celebrate, and grow.
